The Australian Curriculum
The Australian Curriculum provides the foundation for teaching and learning at Craigslea State School. The Australian Curriculum is designed to develop successful learners, confident and creative individuals, and active and informed citizens. It sets out essential knowledge, understanding, skills and capabilities and provides a national standard for student achievement in core learning areas. Signature Practices
Our Signature Practices are a set of evidence based practices that guide a school's teaching and learning. Craigslea utilises the Explicit Teaching framework which ensures that students have a clear understanding of why they are learning something, how it connects to what they already know, what is expected of them and how to do it. It also ensures that students are given opportunities to ask questions and get clear feedback about their learning. Additionally, Craigslea is implementing Kath Murdoch's inquiry framework based on her text, "The Power of Inquiry". This framework cultivates curiosity in learners and promotes teaching methods that nurture a sense of wonder which helps our students grow as thinkers, collaborators, self-managers, communicators and researchers.
