Welcome to Craigslea State School. Prep is the first year of school and provides the foundation for your child's education. It is compulsory for Queensland children to undertake Prep prior to Year 1. Prep is a full-time program in primary schools and the Australian curriculum.
To enrol in Prep, children must be aged five by 30 June in the year of proposed attendance.

Ready, Set, Prep at Craigslea
Starting school is an exciting milestone, and at Craigslea we offer a range of experiences designed to support both children and parents as they prepare for the transition into Prep.
Prep Open Days
Our Prep Open Mornings provide prospective families with a valuable insight into life at Craigslea. Held in Term 2, these sessions include an informative presentation followed by a guided tour of our Prep classrooms, giving you the opportunity to see our learning spaces in action.
Any family is welcome to join our information session provided you have registered your email details with us 2 days before the session.
Prep Experience Mornings
Designed to build confidence in pre-Prep students, these mornings offer a gentle introduction to the school environment. Children participate in engaging activities across areas such as Music, Physical Education, STEM and Library. Parents stay and observe as their child joins a Prep lesson.
Meet the Teacher Morning
This special event welcomes pre-Prep students into their future classroom and introduces them to their Prep teacher. Parents are encouraged to attend, helping to build connections within the school community. Students also meet their Year 6 buddy, who will support them throughout their first year of school.
All of these experiences are thoughtfully designed to ensure a smooth and positive transition into Prep for both students and their families.
