Choir
Performance Choir is an audition choir made up of approximately 30 students from Year 4 to Year 6. At the beginning of each school year students have the opportunity to audition for a place in the Performance Choir. Students in Performance Choir rehearse singing in parts and harmonies.
Instrumental Music Program
At the end of Year 2, students have the opportunity to apply to play a stringed instrument. Those who are successful in their application attend strings lessons from Year 3 onwards. The students who are enrolled in the strings program will join the Senior String Orchestra from Term 4 Year 4.
At the end of Year 3, students have a second opportunity to apply to play a brass, woodwind or percussion instrument. Students who are in the Strings Program can not apply for one of these instruments. Those who are successful in their application attend weekly lessons from Year 4 onwards. In Year 5 and Year 6 these students join the Senior Concert Band.
Concerts and Performances
Throughout the year there are various extra-curricular Music events including camps, tours, assembly performances, community performances and night-time concerts in partnership with Craigslea State High School.
Please be aware that there is a levy for all students involved in the extra-curricular Music activities.
