Student absences
If your child is absent for any reason please complete the absence via
QParents External link or contact the school absence line 3350 8766 and report your child's name, class, reason for absence and dates your child will be absent if known.
Arriving late
Students are not to arrive at school before 8:30am unless involved in a supervised activity. If there is a need to leave students at school earlier, a before school care service is provided by the P&C and is available on a permanent or casual enrolment basis, from 6:30 am – 9:00 am. Please contact Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) for further information.
School staff begin supervision at 8.30am for students in their designated area. Students are not permitted on playground equipment or ovals before school. From 8:30-8:40 am, students sit and can talk quietly in their undercover area. From 8:40-8:55 am students may walk, talk or play handball games in their designated areas. We encourage your child to independently unpack their schoolbag and complete their morning tasks. Parents are welcome to wait with their children in their designated areas.
At 8:55 am, a bell rings for students to line up outside of classrooms ready to meet their teacher to start the day.
Students arriving after 9:00 am must be signed in at the office and collect a late slip to give to their teacher. If a late slip is not collected by the student, parents may receive an 'unexplained absence' SMS from the school offïce.
Leaving early
Parents/carers who need to remove students from the school during school hours are required to follow protocol:
- Proceed to the office and inform admin staff
- Complete register details and receive slip
- Admin staff will call teacher and have your student sent to the office
Please endeavour to make appointments outside of school hours as time out of class greatly impacts on your child's learning.
Outside School Hours Care (OSHC)
If a student requires care outside school hours, Craigslea State School P&C operates a high quality
outside of school hours care service in our P&C building.
