At Craigslea State School, Technologies is taught by a specialist STEM teacher through an integrated approach that combines Design and Technologies and Digital Technologies. Learning is driven by authentic, real-world challenges that encourage students to think like designers, engineers, innovators and problem-solvers.

Each unit begins with a meaningful inquiry connected to the world around us. Students use design thinking, computational thinking, systems thinking, and futures thinking as they investigate needs, analyse problems, generate ideas, create and test prototypes, evaluate evidence, and refine their solutions. Sustainability is embedded throughout the curriculum, encouraging students to consider how today's decisions shape tomorrow's communities and environments.

Our STEM program develops confident, creative and critical thinkers who collaborate, communicate and use technologies safely and responsibly.  By applying knowledge across science, technologies, engineering and mathematics, students build the skills, curiosity and adaptability needed to thrive in an increasingly complex and rapidly changing world.
