At Craigslea State School, students have opportunities to learn across all five areas of The Arts: Media Arts, Visual Arts, Dance, Drama and Music. Media Arts and Visual Arts are taught by classroom teachers, while Dance, Drama and Music are taught by specialist teachers.

In Media Arts, students use images, sound, text and technology to create and respond to media works. They explore how stories, ideas and messages can be shared through digital and creative media.

In Visual Arts, students explore art, craft and design. They view, discuss and create artworks using different materials, techniques and styles, while learning about artists and artworks from local and global communities.

In Dance, students use movement to communicate ideas, stories and emotions. They learn to create, perform and respond to dance in different styles and contexts.

In Drama, students use voice, movement, role and imagination to create and perform dramatic works. They explore characters, situations and stories, and learn how drama can communicate meaning to an audience.

In Music, students listen to, perform and create music from a range of styles, cultures and traditions. They develop musical skills through singing, playing, composing and responding to music.
